Driving down a lonely road,
I saw a man
He didn't have a single thing,

But a bible in his hand.
He said to me,
Boy you better watch your back,
The killer comes, creeping from the darkest black.

That was the coldest night I think I've ever seen,
The sky was gray, the roads were wet,
And I was in between.
What he said I won't forget,
Til the day I die,
He said he just got back from hell,
And he'd had a lovely time.

Fear is a crazy thing.
It'll change a man.
It'll take a quiet fool,
And put a gun in his hands.
Fear aint quite a feeling.
But a living thing.
You can try to hold it down,
But it will only break free.

Later that night I lay awake,
Thinking about what I've seen.
All the memories,
all the sights,
And all I've ever dreamed.
I looked at them and realized
that it never seemed,
to lead me to this moment.
This cold atrocity.
