My blood, mixes with soil,
a trembling toiling haze.
The flood marks all receding,
choking and heaving I lay

I climb up on the bluff,
to see what my eyes can see.
Tall growing Trees as I fall asleep

I dream, far in the distance,
out through the forests I’ll find.
A scar, litters my vision,
a point of decision entwined

I start toward the east,
a tangle of debris.
Grabs and cuts my knees I stumble through the trees
