you drove me home in silence
ten below the speed limit
i couldn't even look at you for

fear of breaking
the yellow lines on the road got smaller
i could feel your eyes upon my neck
with your breath like smoke
and im just writing on the window

your hand on mine
but only too late
to save whats left of me
and all the letters in the world
wont make you here
and i can hardly breathe
your hand on mine
and i can hardly see

we stood at the bottom of my steps
for what seemed like hours
you brushed my face with your hand and
turned around and walked away
i hid behind my front door
and watched you until you were gone
with the words you said just
echoing through my head
